We are seeking an Engineering Manager with a passion for cloud infrastructure, reliability and developer productivity to join the Application Platform team. This role will focus on people development while co-creating a vision and collaborating on a strategy which inspires the platform team(s) and stakeholders. We build a tech platform, an integrated suite of critical products providing tooling and expertise to enhance the productivity of our developers at Scout24 by removing their need to be concerned about infrastructure. We have multiple teams developing this seamless experience in the cloud. These products include a developer portal, container platforms, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, reliability targets and more.
How your role will look like:
- Set high performance and quality standards, coaching team members to meet them, and mentoring and growing junior and senior IC talent.
- Help build a shared product vision and translate that into a roadmap you and the platform team(s) can deliver on.
- Measure the success of your products and continuously iterate to improve them; deliver value to our developers while maintaining cost efficiency of our services
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team, emphasizing ownership, technical excellence and innovation.
- Build empathy with product development teams and collaborate with them and a product manager on the design of the platform
What you need to succeed:
- Experience in building and shipping software at scale; experience with a cloud platform, preferably AWS.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
- Effective communicator (written, verbal, visual); inspire your team and stakeholders by demonstrating genuine care and passion for the problems you are addressing.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges with the team and navigate ambiguity effectively.
- Data-driven, with deep knowledge of how to define success metrics
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with a diverse, talented team.
